The Hamilton Community Centre of Music Sinfonia is a small orchestra. It bridges the gap between beginner ensembles and more-advanced community orchestral groups, and is open to all woodwind, brass, percussion and string players. The Sinfonia plays a wide range of repertoire from classical to contemporary and film music, and regularly performs at the Music Centre and at events in the central Waikato. Students learn how to play in a symphony orchestra in a supportive, positive learning environment, where they are supported and mentored by their fellow orchestra members, HCCM Tutors and the Musical Director.

The Sinfonia is open to all open to all woodwind, brass, percussion and string players who have passed Grade 2 on their instrument (equivalent to 2 &#45 3 years of study). Rehearsals are held at HCCM on Saturday mornings 10.30 am &#45 12.00pm.

Participation in the Sinfonia is free for eligible students enrolled in an applicable instrument class.
